APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (CENTER)

ABA therapy is considered the only evidence-based intervention for children on the Autism spectrum. Center-based ABA therapy is typically provided as an early intensive intervention for children aged 2 years and older. Benefits of center-based ABA include a concentration of clinical resources, on-site LBAs (BCBAs), peers for social skills training, and a preschool-like environment. Typical goals include functional communication, social skills development, independent and interactive play behavior, tolerance, flexibility, small group skills, daily living skills (potty-training, self-feeding, etc.), reduction of problem behaviors, and preparation for transition to school.

OUR APPROACH

Applied Behavior Analysis

ABA is an evidence-based practice that involves application of systematic environmental modifications to produce socially significant improvements in behavior (Baer, Wolf, and Risley, 1968). ABA is an individualized and collaborative behavioral treatment approach driven by assessment and data.

Comprehensive ABA interventions are designed to drive improvements in specific skills that are foundational for more global developmental changes. Treatment may be provided for an extended period of time, and may occur in a home or center setting.
