Position Summary

Implements curriculum programs and behavioral intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities. The intern also assists in writing programs and reports, conducting skill assessments, data collection, graphing, planning and leading classroom training for Behavior Technicians/RBT's.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Functions as an active member of the treatment team
  • Develops processes and protocol for clinical staff as needed
  • Assist in creating instructional materials
  • Attends weekly Clinical Meetings to discuss departmental objectives
  • Assist in the development of staff training programs designed to increase overall skills
  • Evaluates and administers RBT Quarterly reviews and Skills Assessments for clinical staff
  • Serves as BCBA-Intern on Duty by providing guidance to RBT’s
  • Applies behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients
  • Implements Individualized Treatment Plans under the direction of the BCBA (board certified behavior analyst) assigned to the specific client
  • Consistently implements behavior plans to promote appropriate social behaviors
  • Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and make decisions
  • Effectively handles difficult or confrontational situations in a calm manner
  • Must be flexible regarding schedules.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate and timely manner
  • Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, clients and staff
  • Other clinical duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in ABA and/or related field such as Psychology, Education or Speech is preferred
  • Previous experience in teaching children with Autism/Developmental Delays using ABA is preferred
  • Willingness to obtain an RBT certification is required
  • Must be enrolled in Master’s Degree program for ABA or related field
